- Proposal to Acquire Greenland: Trump is firm in his decision of protecting the territory of America. Trump seeks a control on global route for the trade purpose, particularly in the South China Sea and the Arctic region. Trump shared a proposal to Denmark, on acquiring Greenland, which was abruptly rejected by the country. This move directly confronting China, as China has good control in the global maritime routes, and Trump wants to weaken its position.
- Support to Israel & Control on Gaza Strip: Under Trump’s leadership, USA offer firm support to Israel by providing adequate arms and ammunition, decision to cut aid to Palestine, and relocation of US Embassy to Jerusalem. Trump further highlighted to acquire Gaza Strip by displacing the citizens of Gaza to Egypt and Jordan. The decision of Trump fueled tension in Middle East region.

- Iran Nuclear Weapon Deal: Recently we heard that Iran stockpile the uranium, used for developing nuclear weapons and stating boarder safety reason. Trump aiming to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons by imposing economic sanction on Iran’s oil export. Recently, Trump warned Iran to block nuclear and advised negotiation on nuclear weapon deal.
- Conflict with Ukraine President: In the Presidency of Joe Biden, Ukraine got full support against Russian aggression. Recently we saw an argument between the Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and USA President Donald Trump. USA asked to repay the debt and offered ceasefire with Russia to protect the country. Though the European countries are supporting the country, but if US withdraw his support, it would be difficult for Ukraine to survive.

- Imposition of Tariffs: The trade disputes begin with the imposition of high tariffs, particularly with China, Canada, Mexico, and the European Union. The traffics goes around 20% to 25%, recently Trump announced that he has informed the Secretary of Commerce to impose 50% tariff. Though, such action is not yet initiated. The high tariff disrupted the global markets, creating uncertainty for businesses and investors worldwide.
- Dissatisfaction with India’s Trade practices: We all know the bonding with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and US President, Donald Trump. The Trump administration is unhappy, as per him India is targeting high tariffs on American Goods. Trump also criticize the heavy duties imposed by India on America’s Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

- India’s Efforts on Trade Disputes: To resolve the dispute, India reduced the tariffs, and reinstate Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), that allow duty-free exports of Indian goods to the U.S. But Trump Government is pushing for further concession, which may disrupt the economic disruption in India.
- Need for Strategic Partnership: India is dealing with Russia for the arms and ammunition, and in recent past, India Purchase S-400 Missile Defense System. U.S. view the deal as security threat and pushes for America defense exports. In geopolitical level, to maintain balance, India has to be careful with its strategic partnerships.

In geopolitical level, Trump’s mayhem is known to the world. But what about America? The decision taken by Trump’s policies faced criticism from the American citizen.
- Market Fluctuation: People of America are unhappy with Elon Musk regulating the policy. The financial market fluctuates due to the endorsement of cryptocurrency and diverging from traditional banking regulations, people see it as an unconventional approach.
- Dismantle of USAID: Trump administration proposes to dismantle USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and reduce foreign aid. This decision resulted in job losses and a step back from global funding results economic crises in developing countries.

- Amendments in Policies: The U.S. Government supporting fossil fuel industries, by changing the energy and environmental policies. The support to these industries, draws criticism from environmentalists. The action behind this initiative is economic growth and sustainability. U.S is more focused on developments rather than climate.
Trump’s Next Moves and Implications for India
In past 50 days of Trump Administration, the government focus on the vision of “America First. In this post we discuss the geopolitical upheaval, global turmoil and the relationship between India and U.S. In upcoming days, we are expecting a hike in tariffs especially while dealing with China. In respect to India, maybe U.S. push for further negotiation on tariff, but the strategy of India, is yet to disclose. If we look into defense partnership, America is more aligned with partnership and looking for a global alliance.
Trump’s second term is known for challenges and opportunities to the world, in these circumstances, it would be difficult to say, what action the global leaders will take to cope up.
